Meghan and Harry could pay up to £73million for smaller home in new town
According to an insider, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, are looking to the coast for a new home. A source said: “Harry and Meghan are reviewing their living options with Malibu being a place of interest.”
The source went on: “They have secretly visited the area a couple of times and have been out and about, looking at what’s there.”
Malibu is a well-known celebrity enclave. It’s been home to Leonardo DiCaprio, Pamela Anderson, Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, and Cher to name but a few. However, the famous town comes with astronomical house prices.
Homes in the area cost an enormous sum, meaning the couple would have to fork out or downsize to live in the area. According to Realtor.com the median price of a home in Malibu was £5.3m in June 2023, but a celebrity mansion equivalent to the Sussex’s current home would cost much more.
Currently, the couple live in a nine-bedroom house with 16 bathrooms, alongside their two children. This home cost them £11.4million – but Malibu is even pricier.

Slightly smaller homes than the Sussex’s current abode cost eye-watering sums. One eight-bedroom house for sale, with nine and a half bathrooms on 24824 Pacific Coast Highway is selling for an enormous $46.9m.
A brand new seven-bed home, Butterfly House at 24168 Case Court, is selling for an unbelievable $95m.
The source claimed Meghan is drawn to the area because she has friends in the locale. They added: “Meghan has friends who live in the area and she likes spots like Soho House.”
“Certainly Prince Harry and Meghan would be welcome at many major parties and would be desired guests.
“And of course, there is a real Malibu scene where major stars, producers, and studio executives all hang out, socialize and get deals done during dinner and beach parties.”
Meghan and Harry’s current home is a $14million mansion in Montecito, California. The home, given the name Chateau of Riven Rock, has a games room, a gym, tennis courts, and a tea house.
It comes with a star-studded list of nearby neighbours, including Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres.
