SPECTRUM, one of the biggest internet providers in the US, has suffered a blackout.
Thousands of users have been booted offline and are taking to social media and down sites like DownDetector to report issues with the service today, 7 November.
Is Spectrum down?
Reports of issues peaked around 3am EDT, according to Downdetector.
The majority of users reported that the issue lies with their landline internet.
But a quarter of customers say they're experiencing a total blackout.
While 18 per cent quarter of users claim to have no signal.
According to X users, Spectrum had planned network maintenance taking place between 2 and 5 November.
At this time, it remains unclear if the maintenance and network outage is related, or when Spectrum will resolve the issue.
The company usually makes a statement on its X (formerly Twitter) account when it has discovered an issue.
Spectrum experienced a blackout at a similar time just two weeks ago, 27 October, which it did not acknowledge in a public announcement.

However, the issue was eventually resolved.

Companies have been making it easier for users to check the status of their sites.

Spectrum lists an Outage and Troubleshooting page on its website where users can check outages in their area.
Their website lists instructions for customers to ensure they are staying up to date with outage alerts.
Users can also report outages directly to services like Down Detector by clicking the "I have a problem with Spectrum" button.
What are Spectrum users saying?
Complaints on social media suggest users experience issues with their Spectrum internet service regularly.
The outage makes late-night video gaming nearly impossible, according to customers.
"Going on computer hiatus until my dad’s stupid Spectrum Internet allows me to play a full [game] match without disconnecting," one user wrote on X.
Another tweeted: "This Spectrum Internet been trash af lately."
During the 27 October outage, customers made similar complaints.
