‘Stubborn’ air fryer grease ‘melts away’ in ‘five minutes’ with ‘cheap’ item
Express shares how to clean air fryers in five minutes
To ensure every dish is as tasty – and healthy – as the next, it’s important to keep an air fryer clean.
This will also help to ensure it lasts longer, extending its life span and the worth of the appliance.
Rather than using a traditional scrubbing method to clean the air fryer basket, one Mrs Hinch fan was on the lookout for an easier method.
Posting on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, Yvonne De Burgo asked: “Any tips on cleaning the solid metal basket in my Ninja air fryer that also roasts, bakes, and dehydrates.
“Please don’t suggest plain elbow grease as I am elderly and disabled so my elbow grease has disappeared.”

“I always found the air fryer basket had a film of grease after washing. Now I use that product and no film left at all.
Sharing a picture of the Elbow Grease spray, Carrie Rapson said: “Spray on, leave for five minutes, and then wipe off.”

Other Mrs Hinch fans claimed that they preferred just using hot water and washing up liquid to clean their air fryers.
Shirley Sutcliffe said: “Soak in boiling water with dishwashing liquid and use a sink brush to clean while water is still hot – not much effort required, just did mine.”
Carol Jones wrote: “I do mine after each use so it’s easy to clean. Just hot water, washing up liquid and a pan scrubber.”
Trish Clark argued: “It’s non-stick so don’t need scouring, just soak it in hot soapy water each time you use it and just wipe it down to dry.”
