With a brand-new generation of iPhone due for release, there's no better time to buy the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max right now.

While Apple fans across the world eagerly search through the best iPhone 13 deals, anybody looking for a genuine bargain would do better going for the older line now.

Amazon has dropped the prices of these former top-of-the-line smartphones: the Pro has fallen to £849, and the Pro Max to £999 – their lowest prices so far.

It can't be said these are cheap smartphones, even with these new discounts – but they've become a whole lot more affordable now they've been knocked off the flagship spot by the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max.

There's much to like about these handsets: the 4K 60fps video, the expansive 6.7-inch screen, the triple-array camera.

Prices falling on phones that are no longer latest-generation is no surprise, and nor or some of the exceptional contracts we're starting to see, like this great plan from Vodafone.

And while these SIM-free handset prices will probably stay at this level, we expect to see plenty more great iPhone 12 contracts when Black Friday draws closer.
