Inside insanely cheap 50p cottages with amazing views that are on sale this week

Cottages sat on a hillside overlooking beautiful countryside views are set to hit the market this week for as little as 50p – but they will require a lot of work.

One of the derelict properties will be auctioned off on Tuesday with a set price, and if you add another 50p you can get an detached two-bedroom bungalow which comes as part of the auction lot to make-up the £1 opening bid.

The homes are located on a hillside near Crumlin, Wales, and look over the rolling valleys. Sat on a former industrial setting, they are called 1-2 Bank Bungalows.

According to WalesOnline, Sean Roper, from Paul Fosh Auctions, confirmed no internal inspections of the pair of bungalows have been made due to their current condition, adding: “The two tin bungalows are currently in a poor state of repair. However they do occupy an elevated position with views across the valley and do offer scope for improvement.

“The bungalows in their current state need some work but they may well be able to be renovated for Airbnb-type use or to be refurbished and rented out.”

“Alternatively the plot of land they are on may offer the possibility for alternative development such as the construction of a detached dwelling, subject, of course, to necessary planning consents. Bungalow one is believed to contain an entrance, lounge, kitchen WC and two bedrooms while the second property has a lounge, bedroom and kitchen area. There is land to the sides, rear and front, with a parking area.”

The plot is tucked away behind a row of terraced houses, elevated above the rear lane and nestled into the hillside.

The bungalows are in a poor condition but lie in one of the most beautiful spots in Wales.

Crumlin is a town tucked into the Ebbw River valley offering local amenities and facilities, about five miles west of Pontypool and offering easy access to Newbridge and Cwmbran, and commutable to Newport and Cardiff, if you set off before the traffic builds.

Subject to planning consent, the site could become the perfect place to build a new home cocooned in fabulous views, or tackle the full renovation of the current structures.

The site, being sold with vacant possession, is going to auction with a guide price of 50p per bungalow with Paul Fosh Auctions from 12 noon on Tuesday, December 12 and ending from 5pm on Thursday, December 14, but there might be a fight to secure the plot with the low prices.
