Feeling exasperated, the fan had tried all sorts, from all-purpose cleaner, Beckmann Stain Devils and acetone, but a blue stain still remained.

“Does anyone have any idea what else we could try please?” the fan pleaded, and cleaning enthusiasts came to the rescue.

Gina Newell posted: “Cif cream on a lightly damp cloth… very gentle rubbing. Cif cream is amazing.”

Blue and black ink can soak into wooden, laminate and vinyl flooring extremely quickly.

If this happens to you

Should blue or black ink spill on your flooring, the first thing you need to do is act with speed.

You will need to grab a paper towel or cloth to try to soak up the ink but do not rub or spread the ink around at this stage.
