Sir Paul McCartney’s quiet life on East Sussex farm where homes fetch £468,750

Sir Paul McCartney was the co-lead vocalist, co-lead songwriter and the bassist for the Beatles.

While he has been famous since the early sixties, he has managed to escape the limelight over the years on his East Sussex farm.

Sir Paul bought Blossom Wood Farm in Peasmarsh, East Sussex, in 1973 to bring up his five children.

The estate includes a whopping 160 acres and is where Sir Paul grows rye, wheat and peas.

Sir Paul also helps out in the local community, growing hop which is used by a local brewer to make an ale.

Sir Paul has also made his own recording studio in Icklesham, East Sussex, so he doesn’t have to leave Sussex.

Peasmarsh in East Sussex is located just three miles outside of the pretty town of Rye.

Properties in Peasmarsh had an overall average price of £468,750 over the last year, according to Rightmove.

The majority of sales in Peasmarsh during the last year were detached properties, selling for an average price of £462,500. Semi-detached properties sold for an average of £475,000.

Overall, sold prices in Peasmarsh over the last year were five percent down on the previous year and 11 percent down on the 2020 peak of £524,789.
