Gamers are just realising an interesting change to old Call of Duty games – big changes coming soon | The Sun

CALL of Duty fans have been noticing an interesting change to the series, which has given hope for the future.

Looking back at Call of Duty’s huge library of games, many of them are seeing updates for the better.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the most current game in the series with Warzone being the free-to-play equivalent.

However, many of the older games still have their servers online, meaning that people can still play them competitively.

Despite the servers being online, people still had issues getting into online matches with others.

This is due to issues with the matchmaking which struggles to pair players effectively.

However, players of the older games have reported that matchmaking has now been fixed, meaning they can get into competitive matches again.

While this is a welcome change in itself, people are wondering what the implication of the change is.

Currently, publisher Activision Blizzard is all over the news, due to the proposed acquisition by Microsoft.

As the deal comes ever closer to closing, people are speculating what the change will mean for the popular series.

It was revealed during trial that Microsoft signed a deal with Activision Blizzard which prevents games like Call of Duty coming to Game Pass until 2025.

However, if the acquisition moves forward then Microsoft could add the games to Game Pass in the future.

The change could also be because PS Plus Essential recently added the older Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War to its service.

The fix to online servers could also simply be due to renewed interest in older Call of Duty games due to the ongoing trial.

It’s still unclear the implication of the fix, but we’re pleased that gamers are enjoying their old games again.
