A look into Hugh Grant’s impressive property portfolio

Best known for his leading roles as the love interest in a host of romantic comedies, Hugh Grant is loved for his British charm. While he has played the part of a desirable West Londoner in the likes of Notting Hill and Bridget Jones, the 62-year-old’s real life is not far off. Born and bred in Hammersmith the About a Boy star still lives nearby with his wife Anna Eberstein and three of his children.

While many fans know Hugh Grant as a book-shop owner with a bright blue front door, the place he now calls home is a little different to the property featured in Notting Hill.

Located on an exclusive street in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Hugh lives in close proximity to a handful of other famous faces.

According to The Sun, the esteemed actor purchased his six-bedroom semi-detached home for £17.5million back in 2019.

The father-of-five has kept his home life largely private, though the property is reported to be a traditional Victorian townhouse.

Like many similar properties in the area, Hugh’s house features large white-frame sash windows and a chic brick exterior.

With an estimated net worth of $150million (£123,370,500), it’s no wonder the Four Weddings and a Funeral star chose to live in the star-struck London borough.

Though his own home is thought to be worth much more, the average sale price of less extravagant houses in the area still exceeds £2million.

Dat from Rightmove showed that properties in Chelsea had an overall sale price of £2,014,171 in the last year, with flats alone fetching around £1,429,264.

Terraced properties sold for an average of £4,059,163 in the past 12 months, with semi-detached properties fetching £3,446,085.

Current listings for similar six-bedroom terraced homes in the area are priced in the region upwards of £19million.

In nearby Notting Hill, Hugh owns another house which he rents out for a reported £7,000 per week.

The BAFTA award-winning actor purchased the abode in 2016 with his wife, Anna Eberstein for £10million.

In addition to his collection of London houses, the three-times married film star owns a third property in Sweden.

The modest home is nestled in the fishing village turned summer resort known as Torekov in the south of the country. Hugh snapped up the Swedish villa in 2015 for somewhere in the region of £500,000.

As reported in The Local Sweden, the property boasts 122 square meters and is worth six million kronor in local currency.

Hugh’s wife Anna is originally from Sweden so the pair are no strangers to the area where they purchased the property, which happens to be close to one of the “glitziest” spots in the country.

Residents who live in neighbouring properties told The Local that Torekov is popular with celebrities, so it is “not a big sensation” that the famous couple owns a home there.

While he is rarely spotted with them in public, Hugh Grant has five biological children. A daughter Tabitha, born in 2011, a son named John Mungo, born in 2012, Felix Chang born in 2012, another daughter born in 2015, and a third daughter, born in 2018.

Hugh’s eldest children Felix and Tabitha are from his previous relationship with Tinglan Hong though he now lives with his son John and two daughters who he shares with his current wife.
