Uber reveals the longest journey ever taken via its app in Britain | The Sun
UBER has revealed the longest journey ever taken by somebody using its app in the UK – and its price.
The Uber driver picked up the passenger at London Heathrow and dropped him in Loch Lomond in Scotland.
The person who booked the journey paid a staggering £540.45 for the trip fare, but then popped a £45 tip on top.
It happened in 2018 and was a 422-mile London-to-Scotland journey in that took approximately six hours.

However, Uber also revealed that their average trip is actually only 4.51 miles.
The American company also says that its busiest day in the UK was the 14th of December 2019 – more than one million people used Uber in twenty-four hours.

Back in September 2012, there were just 69 drivers working with Uber in the UK.
Since then the number has gone up by 1,231% to 85,000.
General Manager at Uber, Andrew Brem said: "This week I had the chance to meet many of the wonderful drivers who have driven on Uber for the last 10 years, all of which have played a crucial role in growing the business into what it is today."
"Uber has continuously evolved over the last decade which has enabled us to take the lead on important issues such as electric vehicles, safety, and worker rights.
"The journey continues with drivers at the heart of everything we do," he added.
According to data from Uber, its most popular cities in the UK are Leeds, London, Manchester, and Birmingham.

The most popular locations are Manchester Piccadilly, London’s King’s Cross, Birmingham New Street, Victoria Station, and New Station St in Leeds.
But, since Uber started the company has been involved in a lot of controversy.
Last year, Uber drivers were categorised as employees rather than being self-employed by the British Supreme Court.
This meant drivers enjoyed advantages such as the minimum wage and holiday pay.
