There’s nothing worse than spending your hard-earned money on an expensive pot or pan only for it to be marked and stained after cooking. One lady asked Mrs Hinch’s army of cleaning fans to help her return her sink to being shiny.

Cleaning star Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, became popular after sharing her cleaning tips and tricks on social media and TV.

The cleaning enthusiast has amassed over 4.1 million followers on Instagram and has inspired millions to share their own cleaning hacks.

One social media group came to the rescue when someone needed answers to clean their sink and the best products to make it “nice and shiny”.

Steph Jane posted: “Need a bit of advice… what is best for cleaning and making my sink nice and shiny. Best products/cloths etc.

“How do you all do yours?

“It’s a new modern sink and I want to keep it looking gleaming and smelling fresh. Thanks in advance.”

The call-out received lots of comments with many suggesting different cleaning methods and products to use.

Kerry Hay said: “The best thing I found for the sink is Bar Keepers Powder shines it up great.”

Rebecca Watson agreed: “Bar Keepers Friend, the powder not the spray. Sprinkle and then rub with a damp sponge. Rinse and then buff up with a soft cloth.”

Clare Sutton also used Bar Keepers Friend: “Just a bit of barkeepers friend once a week will keep it shiny and wipe round to buff after each use to stop any limescale build-up.”

Bar Keepers Friend Multi-Surface Household Cleaner and Stain Remover Powder is available to buy on Amazon for £2 instead of £4.

It comes in a 250g bottle and works on ceramic, stainless steel, granite, copper, chrome, china, marble, porcelain, plastic, glass, brass, tiles and laminates.

Hayley Murphy, on the other hand, used a different product.

She explained: “Cif cream cleaner squirt all over, use my dishmatic to rub it all in leave for five mins then wipe off with a clean damp cloth.”

Kelly Bett added: “Cif will keep it lovely. Buff dry with microfibre once cleaned. That will shine it all up streak free x.”

Cif Cream Cleaner is just £1 from a variety of retailers.

For a chemical-free alternative, Elizabeth Phillips suggested: “Lemon”.

Pam Jones offered: “Baby oil” as a solution.

Another suggestion was washing powder and Flossy Oddsocks explained how she used it for her sink:” Bio washing powder.

“Put a little in sink. I go round it with a spine and rub it in.

“Leave it an hour. Rinse. Will be sparkling.”
