Mrs Hinch fans share ‘easy’ 17p tip to banish limescale from toilet – ‘No scrubbing!’

Fans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch have created their own social media groups dedicated to sharing cleaning and tidying tips. Mrs Hinch, whose full name is Sophie Hinchliffe, became famous after she began sharing her unique cleaning tips on social media and TV. She now has over 4.2 million followers on Instagram and her own homeware range.
On one such Facebook group, a Mrs Hinch fan wanted to know how to remove limescale marks and stains from the bottom of the toilet.
Imogen Barnard wrote: “Any idea how to get limescale marks out of the bottom of the toilet?
“Constantly cleaning and scrubbing and it’s always there no matter what.”
Luckily, the post was inundated with comments and other Mrs Hinch fans had plenty of tips and tricks to offer Imogen.
Some cleaning enthusiasts recommended using natural products, while others advised methods consisting of chemical products found in shops.
One unusual method involved a popular item costing less than a £1.
Frances Jane Main wrote: “Bottle of cola, it’s that easy! Remove as much water then use.”
Cleaning enthusiasts can buy a packet of six Coca Cola cans from some shops, such as B&M, for only £1.
Other popular cleaning methods to get rid of limescale involved using Black Harpic.
This strong cleaning product costs only £1 in supermarkets, including Tesco and Waitrose.
Lesley Taylor commented: “Black Harpic every time. And a decent loo brush.”
Carmel Goff said: “Harpic black.”
Carmel added that she “puts it down the toilet every night”.
“No scrubbing needed.”
There are Black Harpic tablets available too.

Lynne Williams offered a different tip. She said: “Swoosh as much water out as possible with a toilet brush, then use a limescale remover overnight (or all day if nobody needs to use it), flush twice, swoosh the water again and use a pumice stone on anything left.”
Flossy Oddsocks commented: “Garlic black limes ale and leave overnight. Use regularly.”
Adela Ansell wrote: “I bought a toilet pumice stone off Amazon and scrubbed it. It came off really easily.”
Linda Sharkie added: “Buy cheap dishwasher tablets from Aldi or Lidl, drop one in bowl each night it will disappear. Try not to flush for as long as possible.”
