Must-know iPhone trick lets you block scam texts before you ever read them

A USEFUL TikTok video has highlighted a tip to help you avoid some scam texts.

The short clip has been liked over 36,000 times and people have praised it in the comments.

TikToker @ambre_skye posted the video.

They often post useful iPhone tip videos.

The TikTok explains: "Go to Settings > Messages.

"Turn ON Filter Unknown Senders.

"Go back to your text messages > Click Filters.

"All your texts are now sorted for you into 3 categories."

These three categories are All Messages, Known Senders and Unknown Senders.

If you click Unknown Senders you may spot a lot of spam or scam messages from people you don't know.

They'll be automatically sent to this folder so you don't have to look at them if you don't want to.

You could happily stay in the Known Senders folder.

The TikTok video is captioned: "I bet 99% of you didn't know this iPhone secret."

Lots of people agreed with this in the comments and thanked the TikToker for the advice.

The trick won't necessarily protect you from all scams though.

A new 'friend in need' scam is said to be on the rise and involves a hacker pretending to be one of your friends or family and messaging you asking for money.
