Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, garnered popularity after sharing her cleaning tips and recommendations on social media and TV. The cleaning enthusiast has managed to gain over 4.1 million followers on Instagram. Now, fans of hers have created their own social media groups dedicated to cleaning and tidying tips.
On one of the groups, a cleaning enthusiast shared a photo of a huge paint splatter across her grey carpet.
She posted: “Please help! Any ideas to get this out?
“It’s emulsion thankfully, and still wet. Just finished scooping up the large amounts of paint.”
The post was immediately inundated with responses from fellow cleaning fans who suggested she used “hot soapy water”.
One user said: “Hot water with washing up liquid and dab it out.”
A second replied: “Hot soapy water and repeat.”
A third person replied: “If it’s emulsion, Fairy liquid in a bowl with warm water.
“Dab and just go over it until it lifts out.”

A fourth penned: “If it’s wet, blot as much of it up before cleaning, otherwise you will spread it. Then clean with soapy water.”
Another user commented: “You need to thin it out by scrubbing with water and washing up liquid or washing detergent…
“It will look like you’re making it worse and spreading it around.
“But you have to do that to thin it out so it comes up.

“Then, change the water and do it again, do it about 4-5 times and it will fade, just be persistent.
“As your carpet is so dark there might still be a light patch.”
Another individual suggested: “If it’s emulsion and still wet, it should come out easily with washing up liquid.”
Other users also suggested they use “washing up liquid”, warm water and “a lot of scrubbing and patience”.
You can buy washing up liquid from most supermarkets for a bargain price, such as ASDA Smart Price Washing Up Liquid which costs 34p.
One person described a similar experience that had.
They said: “It’s emulsion it will come out with lots of soapy water and scrubbing.
“I got a full tin of chalk paint off my carpet.
“Don’t soak your carpet as it will go stale.”
