PS5 vs PS4 video reveals stunning new graphics in Spider-Man game – and it's incredible
A YOUTUBER has created a handy video that compares the graphics of the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
Video-maker ElAnalistaDeBits lined up footage of the newly released Marvel's Spider-Man remastered on a PS4 Pro with a clip of the game running in a new PS5 performance mode.
The mode is designed to simulate what it will be like to play the game on the next-gen PS5 when it hits shelves in November.
To make the comparison neater, the gaming fan even recorded each clip using the same sequences of moves in the same areas.
The result gives viewers a pretty good idea of how the PS5's graphics and general performance will measure up to its predecessor.
Sony's new console, which will ship for just under £450 / $500, adds a powerful new engine that processes graphics faster.
It's also capable of rendering worlds with much more detail than the PS4.
"The draw distance has been improved on the PS5," ElAnalistaDeBits wrote in captions laid over his video.
That means you'll be able to see more buildings and pedestrians in the distance than on the PS4 version.
"The higher frame rate also really makes a difference," he added.
The frame rate is the number of times your console refreshes the screen per second while you play.
The PS5 is said to achieve rates of up to 120 frames per second – twice that of the PS4. That means smoother animations that make what's happening on the screen look more realistic.
The PS5 version of Marvel's Spiderman will also bring ray-traced reflections, ambient shadows, and improved lighting, ElAnalistaDeBits said.
Peter Parker's face has also been altered to make him look more realistic.
The PS5 is Sony's latest and greatest gaming console.
It's the successor to the PS4 and PS4 Pro, and will be available in two distinct versions.
Those are the pricey PS5 proper with all the bells and whistles, and the digital edition, which is cheaper but with lower specs and no disc tray.
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X – when are they out and how much will they cost?
Microsoft has confirmed that the new Xbox Series X and its smaller, cheaper sibling, the Series S, will launch on November 10.
The release date covers the UK, US, Australia and a bunch of other countries worldwide.
The disc-free Series S will cost £249/$299, while the Xbox Series X comes in at £449/$499.
So how does that compare to the new Xbox's biggest rival, the PlayStation 5?
Sony has revealed the PS5 release date falls on November 12, but not everywhere.
That date only stands for the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea.
In the UK, you won’t be able to get it until November 19.
The PS5 proper will cost £449.99/$499.99, while the digital edition comes in at £359/$399.
Both consoles will be out in November with an impressive roster of launch games.
And they'll be going head-to-head with Microsoft's next-gen consoles, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Like Sony, Microsoft has opted to launch two machines: A full-works console with a higher price tag and a cheaper one without a disc tray.
The new Xboxes are out November 10.
In other news, US rapper Travis Scott appears to be one of the first people in the world to get their hands on a PS5 console.
Sony recently confirmed that more PS5 pre-orders are on the way.
The next-gen machine sold out within minutes when pre-orders launched on September 17.
