AMAZON Fire Stick have three ports of call to speed up their telly when it is lagging.
Lag is a common issue, but fortunately there are some easy tricks to remedy it.
Restart
First, hit that restart button.
Just like a computer, phone or Wi-Fi router, restarting the gadget form time to time can help unclog a struggling an Amazon Fire TV Stick.
This can be done either by unplugging the device from the wall and plugging it back in, or from the TV with these instructions:
- Hold down the Home (house) button
- Select Settings > Device
- Select Restart

Uninstall unused apps and add-ons
A maxed out storage will slow down your Fire Stick and create lag while navigating apps or watching telly.
To get rid of unused apps and add-ons, simply follow these steps:
- Hold down the Home (house) button.
- Select Settings > Applications
- Select Manage Installed Applications
- Select the app you want to uninstall
- Click Uninstall, then Uninstall again to confirm
Force stop unused apps
Just because you're not actively using an app, doesn't mean it isn't updating itself behind the scenes.

For unused apps that don’t have the uninstall option, or apps that you’d like to keep but just don’t use very much, there's a way to limit their background activity.
To do so, follow the exact same steps as you would to uninstall the app, as laid out above.
This time, instead of selecting Uninstall, click Force stop.
