Beatrice and Edoardo’s new home will be much larger than their London apartment
Princess Beatrice, 34, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 39, have a grace and favour home at St James’s Palace in London, meaning a royal property owned by King Charles and leased to family members as a favour.
Other royals that have grace and favour homes at St James’s Palace include Princess Anne, 72, and Princess Alexandra, 86.
Beatrice and Edoardo, who share a one-year-old daughter, Sienna, reportedly live in a four-bedroom apartment at the London palace.
This was the same four-bedroom apartment where the Princess lived during her student years while studying History at Goldsmiths University.
At the time, she shared this apartment with her younger sister Princess Eugenie, 33. Originally rent-free, the sisters began paying for their living quarters in 2012.
According to Royal Central, Prince Andrew paid the annual cost of about £20,000. This amounts to about £1,600 each month, which is quite reasonable for a large royal home.
Because the princesses aren’t officially full-time working royals, it was decided that they would be responsible for paying their own rent.
In late 2021, however, Beatrice and Edoardo reportedly purchased a manor home in the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire.
Since Beatrice and Edoardo are not working members of the Royal Family, their decision to leave St James’s Palace and move into a private residence makes perfect sense.

Edoardo’s parents also own a family home in the Cotswolds, which is where he and Beatrice spent the coronavirus pandemic.
Beatrice and her family were said to have bought the new manor house in the Cotswolds for £3.5million in 2021.
Ever since this, the Princess of York has reportedly been renovating the farmhouse, which includes turning the outhouse into a new guest house.
In addition, Beatrice and Edoardo were said to have wanted a party barn and “six-foot-high security gates” out of concern for her own safety, according to The Sun.

As the renovations have been occurring for the last two years, Beatrice and Edoardo have stayed in their St James’s Palace residence.
It is very likely that Beatrice will keep her London apartment for convenience once she moves to the Cotswolds, due to the many events she attends in the capital city.
Her Cotswolds home is reportedly substantially larger than her London apartment and contains six bedrooms in addition to a tennis court and a pool.
Beatrice, Edoardo and Sienna’s new home also has a lovely stream running beside it, which will add the perfect backdrop to their new property.
