Driver reveals hordes of other motorists using 'roundabout slingshot' manoeuvre on the road – but viewers left divided | The Sun
A VIDEO has revealed a driver, who is a serial user of the "roundabout slingshot" manoeuvre, is up to his old tricks again – but viewers are divided.
To make matters worse, the brash motorist proudly showed off that other drivers are also adopting the move in order to beat the traffic.
The dash cam footage captures the moment that TikTok user @jobbertok peels off a main roundabout onto a slip road towards an industrial estate.
With the inside lane at a complete standstill, the enterprising Geordie driver moves into the right-hand lane – coasting past the queue of cars and up to a roundabout.
He then uses his self-titled 'slingshot' move around the roundabout to access the supermarket exit – jumping in front of the waiting queue in the approaching left lane.
The TikToker even notices loads of other cars up to the same trick – all using the roundabout as a shortcut to the supermarket slip road.

But, @jobbertok is all too aware that his antics don’t go down as well with other drivers on the road.
He continues: “Now I just know that someone’s going to be playing the world’s smallest violin, and saying why is my journey more important than anybody else’s?
“It’s not – by doing this we’re actually creating a little gap in the constant traffic that was causing the road to be congested in the first place.

Another responded: “If everyone does it, it'll just cause congestion elsewhere.”
While a further viewer commented: “I did this on my driving test & got failed for it.”
