Xbox confirms it won’t be at gaming’s biggest convention | The Sun

XBOX is the last of the big three to confirm it won’t be attending E3.

Starting on June 13, E3 is one of the world’s biggest gaming conventions that reveals countless new games every year.

PlayStation stopped attending the event in 2019, holding its own summer event instead.

The company held its State of Play in February, and is expected to hold more showcases later this year.

At the end of February, Nintendo confirmed that it would not be attending the conference as it revealed a number of games in its February Nintendo Direct.

The company released a statement saying: “Since this year’s E3 show didn’t fit into our plans, we have made the decision to not participate.

“However, we have been and continue to be a strong supporter of the ESA and E3.”

Xbox is the last to confirm its non-attendance, but will hold its own showcase around the same time.

Talking to IGN, a spokesperson said: “We can't wait to host our Xbox Games Showcase on June 11 and will share more details later.

“We also look forward to co-streaming our event as part of E3 Digital and will not be on the E3 showfloor.”

Publisher Bethesda, which is owned by Xbox, will also hold a June 11 presentation, specifically for its upcoming open-world space adventure Starfield, an Xbox exclusive game.

This will be the first time that the big three will not be attending E3, which will be a huge blow for the event.

PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo have always been the most anticipated showcases of E3, and show off some of the year’s biggest games.

Other major publishers are expected to appear at E3.

Ubisoft, Square Enix, and EA have traditionally held impressive showcases as part of E3, both announcing and showing off major upcoming titles.

Despite this the absence of the big three will surely be felt by the audience.
