Last ever Ferrari Dino 206 S dubbed 'most beautiful race car in the WORLD' hits auction | The Sun

The last ever Ferrari Dino 206 S, dubbed the "most beautiful race car in the world" could be yours.

RM Sotheby's is selling off the rare find at auction later this month.

This car is the last of only 13 constructed with Piero Drogo-designed Spyder bodywork.

Ferrari had plans to build 50, but problems forced the firm to cap the production at just 13.

The Dino 206 S first saw the light of day in 1966, with Ferrari creating it to partake in the FIA's 2.0-litre Group 4 class.

And this particular model was delivered to the owner of the Napoli Football team, Corrado Ferlaino.

According to Ferrari historian Marcel Massini, the car raced in several Italian hills climbs from 1966 to 67.

After being serviced by the Ferrari Factory in November 1968, the car went on to be owned by several individuals before  Ferrari collector Pierre Bardinon acquired the vehicle in 1979.

From there, it went on to live in some of the best collections of Prancing Horses vehicles in the world.

And the car was restored in the UK in 2003 before heading to the United States.

In 2014, the Ferrari saw another restoration in a Ferrari factory, where it attained the Red Book certification.

This confirms the vehicle has its original chassis, engine and gearbox.

Car fanatics considered this car one of the most beautiful race cars of the 1960s.

Surprisingly the auction house hasn't provided an estimated selling price yet.

And Ferrari's rare racer will sell via an RM Sotheby's sealed auction from February 15 to 17.

The auction house also offers one of 75 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss for sale.
