My £80k Range Rover was used to ferry airport passengers around – it travelled 200 miles while I was on holiday | The Sun

A HOLIDAYMAKER was left stunned after leaving his £80,000 Range Rover at the airport – before seeing it travelling 200 miles while he was on holiday.

Paul Hook watched his car make several journeys between Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton while on the plane and from a yacht in Greece.

The 56-year-old left his luxury Land Rover with Skylink Parking on September 23 before jetting off to Lefkos for a week-long break with pals.

But while waiting to take off, he received an alert from his vehicle's monitoring app to say it was on the move.

Paul watched as the car made its way towards Luton before stopping at several hotels in the area.

It then travelled to Heathrow, where a window was left open, before eventually heading back to Gatwick in time for Paul's return.

The hotel manager, from Sidmouth, Devon, who paid £110 for his motor to be kept safe, contacted the company and was told an "unauthorised employee" must have got hold of the keys.

But Paul thinks the excuse is a load of rubbish and reckons someone just wanted to take his flashy car for a spin – totalling almost 200 miles.

He said: "I have every journey tracked on my Land Rover app and I can see it left Gatwick and did multiple trips to Luton and surrounding hotels.

"The firm said an 'unauthorised employee' must have gained access to my keys and the matter would be investigated, but I've heard nothing.

"I feel that if an employee decided to take my keys, they wouldn't have picked someone up from a Great Western Hotel and driven them to the main drop-off point at Luton Airport.

"They then also wouldn't have driven to a compound at Heathrow. It's ridiculous."

Paul said the matter was actually made worse as he knew it was happening.

"I followed the journey in real time from Greece and I could see the window was left open," he added.

"I have evidence of exactly what went on here and it is clear to me that my £80,000 car has been used by the company as a drop-off service from hotels to airport departures.

"The car has done over 200 miles and has not once been topped up with diesel so has been used at my expense.

"I have no idea as yet if any speeding tickets have been incurred.

"I would like to know what the company is prepared to compensate me for.
