Fortnite season 4 is LIVE! What is the Dusty Divot map update and what else happened to Battle Royale in 4.0
FORTNITE Season 4 is officially here and it's got updates for both Battle Royale and Save The World.
Anyone who was following Fortnite lore won't be surprised by the changes – a meteor has crashed into the map and it's changed the game forever. Get the details below.
What happened to the map in Fortnite Season 4?
As expected, the meteor has crashed into the world of Fortnite and it has drastically changed the map forever more.
Dusty Depot is no more and has been replaced by Dusty Divot – it was expected that the Tilted Towers would have been struck, but the popular area was saved.
Dusty Divot is a giant crater that lets users jump around in a low-gravity environment once they collect hop rocks.
Other areas of the Battle Royale island have been hit by smaller meteors.
Away from the crash site is the addition of a brand new place called Risky Reels. This new area, in the Northeastern part of the map, looks like a great new fun place to explore.
Where is Dusty Divot?
The area has now become Dusty Divot.
Dusty Divot is a giant crater that took the place of Dusty Depot and inside it there are plenty of little space rocks called Hop Rocks.
By picking one of these up you are able to engage in low-gravity hijinks!
Epic Games said: “The comet has left a mark on the island… visit the crater and you’ll find glowing rocks all around. Consume them and lift off with low gravity."
Where is Risky Reels?
Risky Reels is a brand new place that didn't seem to have anything to do with the meteor.
The location is north-east of Dusty Divot in the upper-most right of the map.
This was an empty space near the Wailing Woods and made a good landing spot at the start of a match – not anymore, it would seem.
When did Season 4 go live?
Season 4 went live on May 1, 2018, and brought with it a whole host of new changes and updates to the game.
