Putin to address Russian people amid coronavirus crisis, says Kremlin

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russian President Vladimir Putin will make a televised address to the nation later on Wednesday, the Kremlin said, without providing further details.

Putin’s address follows the sharpest daily reported rise in coronavirus cases, which now stand at 658 in Russia. It also comes amid speculation he will postpone a planned April 22 nationwide vote on constitutional changes due to the virus.
